You think on your feet, presenting clear, actionable points of view to clients. You can distill complex ideas into practical, action-oriented strategies. You’re passionate about trends and enjoy being part of a client’s trajectory of change – driving impactful results.Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Research & Reporting
- Build knowledge of the client’s business in order to understand the implications of Dig’s work on the workings of the client.
- Understand and apply client strategies to all deliverables – ensuring the information shared clearly resonates with client needs.
- Analyze a variety of sources in order to identify trends and opportunity spaces – from Instagram, blogs and online experts to books, magazines, and the intellectual products of trade/industry conferences.
- Drive creative, divergent thinking, while adapting the unstructured ideas to a structured framework – develop an outline and turn your findings into a synthesized report.
- Research and identify trends that are insightful, novel and defensible through a business case, proof of concept and mental modeling.
- Provide recommendations that demonstrate clear ties to the client’s business.
- Ability to translate trends and inspirational thinking into actionable opportunity areas for a client for presentation and ideation.
Creative Ingenuity
- Utilize proven methodologies to explore and test innovative ideas, trends and research in-market examples of how consumer and market trends – always open to improving the approach to trend research.
- Bring new ideas to the table in terms of how we are executing the work.
- Ability to create your own report templates (in collaboration with the manager).
Presenting & Facilitation
- Strong presentation capabilities: share your findings to your colleagues and clients in a way that shows your passion for the work and the breadth of your knowledge.
- Aid in the organization and facilitation of workshops and working sessions with clients.
Project Management
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams in qualitative and quantitative research to develop innovative solutions that address future needs and challenges for clients.
- Proactive workflow management to hit deadlines.
- Conducts a structured approach for completing work and solving client challenges that is well communicated and agreed upon with the project lead.
Key Demonstrable Traits and Skills:Although you might not possess a trends background, below are some traits and transferable skills that would make someone successful in this role.
- Analytical Thinking – projects are often driven by expansive topics, the candidate should be comfortable with uncertainty, but analytical in how to break down steps to investigation, synthesis and perspective building.
- Strategic Mindset – the work we do impacts the future viability of the companies who choose to partner with us. It is essential that a strategic mind can take more conceptual ideas and root them firmly in a client’s business, brand or innovation strategy.
- Creative Curiosity – our methodologies are solid and require a continuous ‘what if’ and ‘yes and’ attitudes, exploring possibilities and seeking early fringe signals and emergent opportunities for category change
- Adaptable Perspective-Taking – the research guides our thinking and we must continually grow in our perspective as we learn more information. Staying rooted or fixated on challenged thinking will not serve us or the client. This work isn’t for falling in love with static ideas, but letting the future unfold through the process.
- Passionate Dynamism – doing this type of work is a privilege and attitude and passion translate through everything we do shaping the client relationship, the deliverables and our collaborations with the team and other departments. Choices must be in service to the work and delivering the best final product possible.
Previous Experience:
- 5-10 years in a similar role, which may include design, brand, innovation or business strategy.
- Recent experience in a client-facing role.
- Strong presentation skills, discussing a perspective and thinking on your feet.
- Self-starter mentality and can navigate a remote environment through strong communication.
