Position Description:
The Alcon Security Operations Center (SOC) is responsible for monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and performing incident response and recovery to cyber threats against Alcon applications, platforms, networks, and information. This role offers hands-on experience in cybersecurity practices, threat detection, and incident response while working closely with experienced professionals in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with IT Security team on planning and execution of defined deliverables within assigned project.

Work in security technologies such as – SIEM, SOAR, EDR and DLP analyzing security event data and assisting security team creating & deploying use cases and process improvement.

Create reports & dashboards from Security operational platforms.

Assist Security team with investigative activities and root cause analysis related to security incidents.

Drive the outcomes of lessons learned to improve security posture of organization and define key metrics.

Identify opportunities for automation of process.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship or co-op, and at least one additional semester following internship or co-op.

Must be pursuing at least a bachelor’s level degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Cloud Security or related major.

Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0

Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)

Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated)

Ability to commit to a full time (40 hrs. per week) Intern position.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Basic knowledge in attack lifecycles and Security Incident Response
-
Experience of Microsoft Office tools
-
Basic data analysis skillset and understanding of relational data concepts

Experience with Security tools (SIEM, Vulnerability Management, etc..) a plus

Basic understanding of scripting techniques (Python, PowerShell or Perl) a plus
