Assistant Brewmaster

Are you experienced in all things brewing and want to continue your career in brewing with a dynamic, family-owned company in the craft beers industry? One of the oldest independently owned and operated breweries in Shiner, Texas is looking to bring on an Assistant Brewmaster to join their team! 

This well-established independent craft brewing company prides itself in producing some of the most respected, awarded and loved craft beers in the world. In this Assistant Brewmaster role, you will be an integral leader in ensuring the quality and integrity of the beer while working closely with the Master Brewer on all aspects of production and brewery operations.

Assistant Brewmaster Responsibilities:  

• Assisting Master brewer in brewing beer, adhering to recipe, budget, guidelines and safety requirements  

• Identify areas of opportunity to improve function or increase productivity.  

• Assisting in prep work such as milling, mashing, boiling, cooling, transferring and packaging of beer 

• Supervise and lead team of workers across all levels to ensure quality control standards and targets for production are met  

• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and stay current on working knowledge of all brewery techniques 

Schedule:  

• Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm  

• Needs to have ability to work weekends, evenings, on call as needed to support the business 

Assistant Brewmaster Qualifications: 

• 6+ years of advanced, hands-on brewery experience (brewing beer, adhering to recipes, budgets, forecasting, equipment maintenance) 

• 4+ years of prior leadership experience  

• Current IBD or ability to obtain within first 24 months of employment 

• Knowledge and experience with statistical tools 

• Bachelors in science or other related degree 

Compensation: $140k – $150k/yearly
