About the Role:

The Project Manager, Special Programs is responsible for executing key strategic initiatives for the Student Wellness & Accessibility Centre (SWAC). This position leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and supervises the wellness navigation team.

The Project Manager, Special Programs will:

  • Provide leadership and oversight to ensure the smooth implementation and operationalization of campus wellbeing strategic initiatives;
  • Work with campus partners to implement programming, facilitate strategic partnerships, supports and services;
  • Establish all requirements and implement the micro-credential program for the Ambassador of Campus Well-being program;
  • Ensure the programs follow principles of Universal Design for Learning and AODA guidelines for accessibility);
  • Oversee the full process of programming development and administration (i.e., inclusive of responding to program inquiries, conducting needs assessments, hiring, designing frameworks for service delivery and protocols for excellence in service delivery of programs);
  • Identify and participate at events as a representative of SWAC and the University; 
  • Provide input into strategic initiative budgets, resources, and direction to ensure viability and success; 
  • Report on programming, including program financial reports as well as working with Finance Accounting Officer and other Finance specialists to ensure the compliance with budget projections;
  • Manage allocated budget, adhering to targets and expenditure budgets;
  • Provide leadership to direct reports, including managing, coaching, mentoring, and motivating; 
  • Recruit and train staff, ensuring effective allocation of staff to meet goals and objectives of the programs;
  • Develop training plans and programs for staff and train staff in work methods, systems, policies and procedures.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Graduate degree in Social Science, Education, Psychology, Social Work, Health Sciences;
  • Experience in implementation, evaluation and scaling of programs including the development, design, delivery and evaluation at the operational levels with demonstrated experience effectively analyzing, integrating, and clearly communicating complex ideas at the conceptual, strategic, and tactical levels; 
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management experience and training a team of professionals; 
  • A broad knowledge of management and proven ability to independently design, implement, manage, and execute multiple projects simultaneously; 
  • Expertise in curriculum design, development, and the principles of adult education; 
  • Expertise in designing diverse and inclusive programs utilizing adult learning principles and UDL; 
  • Experience establishing and managing budgets and expenses;
  • Excellent customer service orientation, with the proven ability to build long-term relationships and trust with individuals; 
  • Adept at working collaboratively to develop synergies and partnerships;
  • Strong management skills and advanced communications skills (verbal, written and interpersonal), including superior listening skills; 
  • Effectiveness in professional public speaking and serving as a brand ambassador for Brock; 
  • Ability to manage finance-budget challenges to ensure adherence to projected budget.

Preferred or Asset Skills:

  • Experience delivering a health promotion or health related program/service. 

Salary and Total Rewards:

  • Job Grade N, Salary Scale ($75,460 – $129,360)*;
  • Target Hiring Range: $75,460 – $80,000;
  • This is a Fixed Term Contract position that includes:

  • Pension Plan: Enrollment eligibility in the Brock University Pension Plan.
  • Vacation: Up to 3 weeks per year, in addition to university holidays.
  • Flexible Work Arrangements: Hybrid work schedule available.
  • The final salary is based on experience, internal equity, and budget considerations within the target hiring range.
