Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Oshawa Elevation Centre on a full-time basis

The Role:

Global Facilities in Canada provides facilities engineering, construction, and utility services to the Canadian manufacturing and non-manufacturing sites. This position is for 1 pioneering student currently enrolled in third, or fourth year of Electrical Engineering. You will provide valuable experience and gain direct exposure to facilities engineering. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual who will assist us in creating success for themselves and the corporation! The role will entail a close working relationship with Facilities Engineering personnel as well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of facilities projects (ex. HVAC, Building, Fire Protection, Roofing, Electrical Distribution, etc) as directed by team leader

  • Provide on-site review, inspections, and reports of work in progress

  • Provide data analysis, research, and recommendations

  • Coordinate scheduled field activities with all affected parties

  • Update drawing inventory in AutoCAD, or other program

  • Perform field condition surveys; incorporate data into drawing package

  • Support special tasks and projects as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree (3rd and 4th year students) degree in one of the following areas: Electrical Engineering

  • Enrolled in a qualifying Ontario co‑operative education, or internship program

  • Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week in Canada, and 16-month term (4 consecutive semesters) starting May 2024

  • Willing to work in a plant environment

  • Have a valid Full Class G Ontario Driver’s Licence, or equivalent Canadian out-of-province licence

  • Solid understanding of AutoCAD

  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Highly adaptable and able to work independently and in a team environment

  • Fundamental computer skills including working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in MS Access
