Build and advance your career by joining a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to excellence in support of senators and the institution.How will you contribute?The Planning and Support Analyst(PSA) is accountable for providing services and operational coordination in support of Property and Services Directorate’s (PSD) Building Operations & Asset Management (BOAM) division requirements for long term strategic/business planning, multidisciplinary team program management, and long term (multi-year) resource monitoring/planning. The position is responsible for the continued review, analysis and assessment of BOAM strategies, plans, schedules and resource expenditures and requirements in the context of division objectives, as well as in regard to major program resource planning linked to the Long term Vision and Plan (LTVP) for the Parliamentary Precinct. The incumbent is expected to provide advice and support to the BOAM Director and Managers on financial and non-financial information, and inform decision-making on evolving challenges in planning, resource management and reporting. A key component of this position includes long term schedule management, specific to individual projects but also to align multiple projects schedules, their requirements, using a program management approach (labour resources, procurement, etc., by consolidating multiple projects schedules and inter dependencies into long term program plans.Open toThe general public to staff one (1) indeterminate full-time position in the Properties and Services Directorate.This selection process may be used to staff determinate or indeterminate positions at the same level with similar requirements.The Senate of Canada is committed to building a skilled and diverse workforce that reflects the Canadians we serve, starting with an inclusive and barrier-free hiring process.   • University or College degree in business, management or another related field, OR an acceptable combination of education, training and related experience ;
  • Certificate or Designation in Property or Facilities management, Real Property, Project Management, client services management, quality management, or other related certifications would be an asset;
  • Intermediate level use of Microsoft Excel (charts, graphs, pivot table, formulas, etc.)
  • Knowledge and past use of Microsoft Visio and/or Microsoft Project would be an asset;
  • Experience in management support associated with project management, change management, financial, and risk management;
  • Experience with supporting management in a complex client service environment, and knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s);
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral);
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
