HR SPECIALISTWe’re looking for a proactive and driven HR Specialist to join a fast-moving environment and support a variety of HR functions. The HR Specialist will work closely with the HR Manager and other key stakeholders to ensure HR operations run smoothly.Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment Management: Oversee the entire recruitment process for multiple open positions, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for both candidates and hiring teams.
  • Team Collaboration: Build strong relationships with department heads to gain a deep understanding of their staffing needs and work closely to define clear job requirements.
  • Talent Sourcing: Design and post job openings on various platforms, including social media and job boards, to attract a diverse range of candidates.
  • Talent Attraction Strategies: Develop creative recruitment initiatives, such as partnerships with universities, sustainability programs, and government-funded training opportunities, to source top-tier talent.
  • Candidate Engagement: Manage all stages of the candidate journey, from initial screening and interviews to final offer negotiations, ensuring a positive and transparent experience.
  • Talent Pool Development: Cultivate and maintain a network of qualified candidates, both active and passive, to ensure we can quickly fill future roles as they arise.
  • Innovative Sourcing: Collaborate with the recruitment team and leadership to develop and implement fresh, innovative strategies for attracting the best candidates.
  • Employee and Manager Support: Provide ongoing support to both employees and management, addressing HR-related needs and challenges as they arise.
  • HR Systems Maintenance: Regularly update and manage HR systems, including internal platforms and documentation, ensuring all records are accurate and compliant.
  • Compliance Management: Assist in keeping HR policies up to date, conducting annual policy reviews, and supporting compliance activities.
  • Health & Safety Support: Ensure adherence to relevant health and safety regulations, supporting the organization’s commitment to a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Additional Support: Be ready to take on other HR-related tasks as needed, providing general support to help the team run smoothly.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of professional HR experience, with certification such as CHRL/CHRP being an asset.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment, such as manufacturing, clean-tech, or startups, supporting a variety of business needs.
  • A degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience conducting interviews (phone, video, etc.) and engaging with candidates at all stages of the hiring process.
  • Familiarity with various job boards and HR software to streamline recruiting and employee management.
  • Strong ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, tact, and empathy.
  • Experience researching and recommending updates to employee benefits, safety policies, and other HR-related practices.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant employment legislation, such as labor laws and payroll standards.
  • Problem-solving skills, with a focus on identifying opportunities to improve HR processes and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with team members across all levels.
  • Strong organizational abilities, with a track record of successfully managing multiple priorities.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage projects independently, taking initiative where necessary.
  • Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Passionate about HR, with a curiosity to learn, grow, and bring new ideas to the table.
  • Experience with North American workforces (US and Canada) in manufacturing or similar industries is a plus.
