FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT (eligible for overtime)NATURE OF WORKThis is a full-time working supervisor position responsible for the oversite of all custodial operations across several buildings and facilities. Shifts may vary with assignment; typical schedule is 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Completes custodial services as directed by Facilities Coordinator.
- Performs scheduling of all facility cleaning shifts with crew members
- Involved in hiring process of position vacancies
- Responsible for covering shifts for vacation, sick, or other absence or regularly scheduled employee (performs custodial services at various buildings in the absence of regularly assigned custodian).
- Completes on-site training for new employees
- Completes inspections of all facilities to ensure quality results and address areas of improvement with crew members
- Maintains supply rooms in each facility, including delivery and stocking of paper products, liners, chemical, rags, and needed supplies.
- Responsible for completing weekly supplies orders with vendors to ensure adequate stock- maintains tracking off all supplies for each facility to aid in budget planning
- Complete annual review of all supplies ordered to ensure the best products at the best available price
- Completes room request setups and break downs for Municipal Building
- Scheduling contracted window and floor cleaning work – pre walk throughs, site access, post work inspections
- Provide building access to contractors as needed.
- Respond throughout the shift to spills, detail work, other needed custodial assistance across all facilities
- Maintains up-to-date MSD binders across all facilities
- Complete all needed fingerprint and online background check programs for secure police department access during employment.
- Trash removal and hauling to dumpster locations.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
- All tools, materials, and safety equipment will be provided
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs all other work as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Knowledge of general building operations
- Knowledge of personal protective equipment, general hand tools, mop buckets, and other custodial equipment
- Knowledge of basic cleaning chemicals used in facilities
- Preferred experience on auto scrubbers, buffers, floor equipment
- Interpersonal skills
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma/G.E.D.
- One year of experience in facilities maintenance preferred but not required
- CPR/AED Certification – able to be obtained on the job
- Valid Class C PA Driver’s License
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb; use hands to handle, or feel equipment and supplies.
- The employee will need to be able to regularly stand for long periods of time.
- The employee must regularly lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Requires normal range of hearing, eyesight and verbal communications to prepare and communicate appropriate activities.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works indoors and outdoors and must be able to function and tolerate various environmental conditions including rain, heat, humidity and cold.
- The employee will work near or with moving mechanical equipment and will work with toxic, caustic or otherwise harmful chemicals such as degreasers, cleaners, and solvents. Proper training and PPE will be provided.
