Accountant in Des Moines, Iowa

Description We are in the process of hiring an Accountant in Des Moines, Iowa. This role will be essential in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments. As an Accountant, you will be tasked with tasks such as reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining a general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Generate and manage journal entries as needed

• Oversee the preparation and organization of the general ledger

• Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met

• Execute month-end duties and generate relevant reports

• Use Accounting Software Systems to streamline accounting functions

• Handle account reconciliation tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance

• Assist with credit card reconciliation and bank reconciliations

• Ensure proper accounting functions and timely payment of expenses

• Contribute to the improvement of the overall month-end close process. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required

• Demonstrated ability to manage Accounting Entries

• Experience in executing Accounting Functions

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation

• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) processes

• Understanding of General Ledger operations

• Experience with Journal Entries is a must

• Ability to perform Credit Card Reconciliation

• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations

• Experience in Month End Close activities is required
