This position is part of the Critical Care division, and as such will become a part of the BD organization in the future. Critical Care will operate as a separate business unit, called Advanced Patient Monitoring (APM) within BD’s medical segment, aligning with BD’s smart connected care approach. Provide technical expertise in the alignment of security architecture as it relates to BD Advanced Patient Monitoring software products in partnership with R&D stakeholders
How you will make an impact:
- Lead threat modeling and the creation of cyber security controls, requirements and user stores to mitigate identified threats
- Provide guidance to team members and lead cyber security designs and architectures for healthcare software systems
- Drive efforts in researching, authoring user story/design, and assuring correct implementation and verification of cyber security features in close partnership with stakeholders (e.g., software development and verification teams)
- Lead and perform vulnerability assessments, highly complex root cause analysis, resolution recommendations and provide technical guidance to stakeholders (e.g., software development teams) through mitigation efforts.
- Lead and perform the operations and maintenance of key cyber security capabilities and services across multiple technologies
- Serve as a business liaison and advisor for at least one business unit

What you will need: (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field plus 6 years of previous related experience Required or
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or technical field plus 4 years of previous related experience
- Experience and/or understanding of at least 3 cyber security domains (e.g., platform security, application security, network security, infrastructure, cloud security, data security and identity and access management)

- Certifications in related discipline (e.g., CEH, CISM, CISSP) Preferred
- Proficient in designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive security architectures and strategies from the ground up
- Ability and desire to constantly self-educate and improve knowledge and understanding of cyber security
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for a wide variety of audiences, with the ability to influence and drive decisions both within the organization and in external engagements.
- Extensive knowledge of own area within the organization while contributing to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards
- Extensive understanding of OOD (Object-Oriented Design) and OO (Object Oriented) methodology and software unit testing
- Extensive understanding of current cyber security standards, regulations, and best practices
- Ability to fuse cyber security knowledge into design and apply to assigned software products
- Strict attention to detail
- Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
- Ability to lead security operations, incident response and forensic analysis in case of a security breach

For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $123,000 to $174,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
