Compensation: $20 – $22 per hourJob Title: Asphalt Technician Hiring Now
Pay: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Start Date: ASAPWe are seeking a Asphalt Technician for a Temp-Hire for our client, a long-standing company that provides asphalt parking lot and driveway services in Springfield, OR. They perform asphalt installation, pavement maintenance and repair, line painting, signage, bollard, extruded concrete curbing and more. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a great program and further your career in this industry, located in Springfield, OR.As a Asphalt Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Keeping company vehicles and equipment clean at all times. Take the initiative to ensure that vehicles and equipment in the yard are clean, fueled, and aesthetically prepared for dispatch.
• Following safety requirements, including the use of provided safety equipment (safety glasses, boots, hard hats, reflective vests, ear protection). Note: Boots are not provided.
• General laborer duties associated with asphalt paving, patching and prep crews
• Shovel, rake, and handle other small tools
• Equipment cleanup as needed: Shovels, lutes, rakes, etc.
• Operate small power tools
• Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials
• Perform other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Previous Asphalt or Concrete Finishing experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow directions from the foreman/crew leader
• Ability to walk, bend, lift, and carry up to 50lbs in any environmental condition
• Ability to work independently or with a small team with little or no close supervision
• Ability to operate basic equipment (power drill, hand truck, torch, squeegees, manual tools, etc.)
• Ability to handle outdoor, labor-intensive, and fast-paced work
