The Department of English at the University of Lethbridge invites applications from scholars of post-1960 literature who are able to teach and expand our range of courses and contribute to research in this field. This tenure-track Assistant Professor position will begin July 1, 2025, subject to budgetary approval. Hiring salary will be in the range of $79,132-$94,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D. in hand, although applicants who are very near completion of their Ph.D. may also be considered. The University of Lethbridge aspires to hire individuals who, depending upon their career stage, demonstrate considerable potential for excellence in teaching and research, or who have an established record of excellence in these areas. The successful candidate is also expected to be an active contributor to the life of the department.

Our Application Process:
The deadline for applications is March 10, 2025, with in-person interviews to be held shortly thereafter. All applications must be submitted online, and should include a cover letter, a detailed curriculum vitae, a writing sample of no more than twenty-five pages (or one published article), a statement of teaching philosophy, a list of course titles that you could teach and/or would add to the current curriculum, and three letters of reference. Short-listed candidates will be asked to bring a sample syllabus for a course on post-1960 literature at the 3rd-year level to the interview.
