Position Summary The LLSS Department invites applications for an Assistant Professor position to become part of the American Indian Education program. The candidate’s research and teaching experience will reflect preparation in American Indian Education or related field, as well as familiarity with Indigenous language revitalization, Indigenous pedagogy, and Indigenous research methodologies. The successful candidate will have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. in American Indian Education, or related fields before Fall 2026. The successful candidate will have a reduced course load for two years, before assuming a full course load at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including core content courses (e.g., History of American Indian Education, Teaching the Native American Child, and Issues in American Indian Education), AIE curriculum area courses (e.g., Language and Education in SW Indigenous Communities, Education Across Cultures of the SW, and Science and Native American Education) and a preservice educator preparation course (i.e., Foundations of American Indian Education).
