Estuary Housing are currently seeking a Clerk of Works who will be responsible for conducting workmanship, quality, and safety of work inspections of new build, regeneration, and other major works projects, within Estuary’s core business areas within Essex and east London.As a Clerk of Works, you will accurately report your inspection findings, and report back to senior managers and clients.As part of the role, you will advise on, and oversee aspects of Health & Safety, as well as keeping a log of any unexpected delays or events which may impact on progress, for instance, supply chain issues with materials or a disruptive spell of adverse weather which halts works.You will ensure that schemes are efficiently and effectively managed in accordance with EHA’s policies and procedures and HE/GLA guidance to satisfy grant requirements and that the quality of the build is maintained.Your main responsibilities will include:Ensure the success of development projects, support and contribute to the delivery of quality homes by providing a high quality and professional service, assessing building work undertaken by Estuary’s contractors, identifying good and inappropriate practices, compiling reports and recommendations on contractor delivery methods.Lead on new build, regeneration, and other major works projects to ensure that Estuary’s aims are achieved to time and budget.Work in collaboration with colleagues and agent/contractor representatives to drive zero defects and ensure maximum satisfaction for residents in new and existing homes.Consult with repair and stock condition surveyors to identify links between high defect products/materials across Built Environment delivery and feed this back into the development process.Maintain a critical but constructive relationship with EAs, constructors and contractor’s supervisory staff. Build relationships with Building Control and other agencies.To be successful in this role you must have:Knowledge and experience of new build, regeneration, and planned/major works housing construction.Technical training or qualification in building construction.
