Role: The Cloud Architect reports to the Vice President, Architecture and Systems Integration and works closely with a team of Cloud Developers and Cloud Architects. Following industry best practices, the Senior Cloud Architect will drive infrastructure automation roadmap to completion in a reliable and secure way; he/she is eager to share his/her expertise with the implementation teams by the means of guidelines, procedures, and standards.Your Day with Equisoft:

  • Provide technical expertise in multiple cloud solution platforms (OCI & Azure), technology strategy and technical design decisions.
  • Assess customer requirements, scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, infrastructure build, configuration, unit testing, as well as driving the production deployment.
  • Evaluate and optimize the costs of the cloud solutions; develop, analyze and utilize cloud cost models and frameworks to ensure sound governance.
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners.
  • Communicate architectural decisions to stakeholders with the proper set of views and documents.
  • Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation scripts and templates.
  • Contribute to Cloud DevOps development activities and complex development tasks.
  • Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications.
  • Interact with project leads and technical stakeholders in building and deploying cloud solutions.
  • Identify, assess and propose the right trade-offs to meet non-functional requirements.
  • Work closely with the IT security team to provide the appropriate monitoring mechanisms for the deployed architectures.
  • Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations.

Requirements:Technical

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or Information Technology with 5 years of significant experience with multiple cloud platforms
  • Minimum of 5+ years in a Solution Architecture role using service and hosting solutions such as private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platforms
  • Combined experience spanning at several IT disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or operations.
  • Excellent knowledge of the cloud security concepts.
  • Solid Knowledge of Linux
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code frameworks and templates: Terraform, ARM, Cloud Formation, etc.
  • Experience with cloud Compute and Storage Services, databases, serverless functions, API Management/Service Bus, Identify Providers such as OID and Azure AD
  • Experience with claims-based authentication (SAML/OAuth/OIDC), MFA, and RBAC
  • Knowledge of cloud security controls including tenant isolation, encryption at rest, encryption in transit, key management, vulnerability assessments, application firewalls, SIEM, etc.
  • Experience building and supporting mission critical technology components with Disaster Recovery capabilities.
  • Experience with end-to-end solutions, big data, real time solutions (Event Hubs, Message Brokers) and batch solutions (Azure Data Factory, SSIS Packages, Azure Pipeline)
  • Experience with large scale migrations and application landscapes into the cloud
  • Experience with containers such as Kubernetes Services, Docker, or Cloud Formation
  • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, SQL, .NET, Java, Python, PHP, Ruby, PERL, C++, etc.
  • Expertise with production deployments and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps
  • Excellent knowledge of English and French (spoken and written).
