Ogilvy is home to the largest influencer marketing practice globally and hosts the world’s biggest festival of behavioural science and creativity, Nudgestock – now in its 12th year.The Role:We are searching for an exceptional individual who is highly skilled and passionate to join our team as a Consulting Director, Brand & Sustainability strategy.The Consulting Director, Brand & Sustainability strategy will bring a unique blend of creative thinking, strategic depth, and analytical rigour. The ideal candidate will possess a mix of marketing and sustainability strategy skills. They will demonstrate proven expertise in delivering brand transformations, from unearthing insights in consumer research, to creating distinctive positioning statements, brand houses and messaging frameworks. In addition, experience in brand architecture, visual identity, creative activation, and broader marketing innovation is desirable.Within sustainability, they should demonstrate a track record of integrating ESG strategies and sustainability initiatives into go-to-market strategies, identifying the material environmental and social challenges for brands to lead on and verifying their potential sustainability claims for communications. Behaviour change is a key component of Ogilvy Consulting’s approach, and alongside colleagues in our behavioural science centre of excellence they will create strategies with real world and environmental impact on a diverse range of sustainability challenges. They will be a sustainability, brand and business advisor to clients, and a specialist expert on sustainability within the team.Ogilvy Consulting believes in the power of brands to transform businesses, change behaviour, drive growth and create financial value. - Managing the day-to-day project engagement; you will own and lead projects and workstreams and act largely independently with your project teams. You apply the right methodologies and have an agile mindset, taking ownership of client deliverables and timelines.
- Managing client relationships strategically, commercially and operationally.
- Participation or leadership in strategic new business pitches and initiatives.
- Ensuring Ogilvy Consulting has an impact in client meetings and presentations, internally and externally.
- Participating in all aspects of methodology and work, including a mastering of quantitative research as well as creative thinking and developing strategic recommendations.
- Managing the financial and budgetary aspects of your client projects.
- Keeping abreast of innovations in your area(s) of expertise, actively contributing to the knowledge base and developing thought leadership.
- Acting as a role model; you are regularly sought out after for views by peers and the wider team.
- Contributing to a positive, diverse working environment that fosters high-quality output and coaching others on the value of collaborative working .
Requirements:
- At least 8 years of strategy consulting experience with a major firm, specialising in brand and marketing strategy, brand positioning architecture or brand innovation.
- A passion for and experience in sustainability and building sustainability driven strategies and communications.
- Experience integrating sustainability strategies and initiatives into brand marketing and comms, from go-to-market strategies to behaviour change campaigns.
- Understanding of green claims guidance and environmental regulation relevant to client operations.
- Formal sustainability training, either academic or through a provider like Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership.
- Able to develop breakthrough brand strategies, positioning and innovations through a deep understanding of our clients’ business.
- Challenging conventional views and presenting ideas persuasively to gain buy-in.
- Able to draw critical human and cultural insights from data and observation.
- Able to translate strategic thinking to creative and innovative brand and marketing solutions.
- A command of modern marketing principles and understanding of how to build powerful brands in today’s world.
- Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A curiosity and energy that runs through everything you turn your hand to and motivates others around you.
