In the role of Country Security Manager, you will have the opportunity to:
Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
Work closely with the Projects Country Director and Senior Management team to support Samaritans Purse’s overall objectives in the country by advising on security strategy and implementation and keeping them informed of security status, information, needs, and concerns
Update and maintain security policies and procedures for the country office, base locations, and international field staff housing. This includes base security procedures, emergency relocation/evacuation, travel restrictions, security training, new staff/volunteer briefing, and other physical security measures
Advise and assist the Country Director in the design and implementation of field and programmatic security policies, including site assessments, trip planning procedures, program implementation, emergency response plans, redundant communications systems and procedures, travel restrictions, and incident reporting
Directly supervise a Security Program Manager and other security staff. Advises and assists the Country Director with contracting, implementation, management, training, and supervision of the security guard force
Monitor potential and present emergencies and keep all staff informed of events. Maintain and adjust thresholds and triggers for changes in local security
Analyze open source and confidential information to support security department objectives. Provide analysis of security incident patterns and trends in the assigned country to ensure proper incident reporting procedures are followed in cases where security incidents involve Samaritan’s Purse staff
Develop and maintain a network of security contacts who can provide real-time security information to support Samaritan’s Purse operations and staff. Maintain an in-depth understanding of the country’s security challenges and emerging threats
Assist the Regional Security Manager/Director in conducting after-action investigations after a security incident has occurred, with specific regard to Samaritans Purse policies and procedures, as well as legal and cultural requirements. Assists compliance and internal audit teams with investigations as necessary

Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of one year of management experience, preferably in a disaster location
Spiritual maturity; ability to lead direct reports in their growing relationship with Jesus Christ
Diplomacy and negotiating skills; coordinate with other agencies, build and maintain positive working relationships
Understanding of complex security situations and ability to advise program design accordingly
Ability to analyze information, develop a complete picture of security situations, and communicate effectively to leadership, both verbally and in written form
Flexibility and adaptability; critical thinking skills
Ability to communicate and interact well with people of different educational, linguistic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds
Previous international military experience (preferred) or relevant experience in an international field assignment, managing security concerns
12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire
Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required); Arabic would be helpful
