  • Assist the Credit Manager with daily operations and overseeing the credit and accounts team.
  • Coordinate, assign and review the work of the team.
  • Prepare and submit weekly progress reports for higher management.
  • Assist with escalations from the team and follow-up with customers to collect and settle outstanding account balances. Work with customers to create payment schedules, as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments and terminals to resolve issues.
  • Improve or implement efficient working procedures or processes.
  • Provide training and guidance to members of the team.
  • Update payroll hours on Payworks.
  • Assist in recruiting personnel and identifying training needs.
  • Ensure credit policies and procedures are followed according to established company policies and applicable legislation.
  • Evaluate and interpret accounts receivable and payable aging reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:Essential Competencies:

  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to multitask, manage priorities and complete assigned work
  • Self-motivated with superior analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong client service orientation and demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience Criteria:

  • Completion of a college program or courses in bookkeeping, accounting or a related subject is required.
  • Knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in a collection’s role is considered an asset.

Technical Skills:

  • A strong understanding of Microsoft Office is required, including preparing reports in Word, and manipulating complex spreadsheets in Excel.
  • Experience and understanding of the TruckMate system are considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced, deadline-driven terminal/office environment.
  • There is a high volume of communication via email and phone.
