We are looking for a Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Cybersecurity team in Barcelona. This is an exciting opportunity to work build security capabilities across a global, collaborative team while working on security operations, risk management, and compliance initiatives at Clarivate. As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will support risk management, compliance, security monitoring, and incident response efforts. This role is ideal for early-career professionals looking to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
0-3 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or IT security-related roles.
Knowledge of risk assessment, compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.), and security best practices.
Understanding of security tools such as vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection, SIEM solutions, and firewalls.
Basic experience with Linux, Windows, or Mac OS environments.
Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within a global team.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
It would be great if you also had . . .
Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, GSEC, or CISSP (Associate level).
Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with programming/scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
Hands-on experience with penetration testing, security assessments, or forensic analysis.
Prior experience in incident response or security operations center (SOC) work.
What will you be doing in this role?
Monitor security alerts and incidents, assisting in investigations and response efforts.
Analyze security events to detect threats, breaches, and anomalies, escalating issues as needed.
Follow incident response protocols and ensure compliance with security best practices.
Support security documentation, including incident reports, procedures, and playbooks.
Refine security alerts by identifying tuning opportunities to enhance detection capabilities.
Contribute to incident response, including containment, eradication, and post-incident analysis.
Stay informed on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques through security awareness initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve security controls and response strategies.
Assist in developing playbooks and process documentation to optimize security operations.
Product you will be developing
The Cybersecurity Analyst will work within Clarivate’s global security team, focusing on Security Engineering & Operations, Product Security, Security Architecture, and Governance, Risk & Compliance. You will contribute to incident response, risk management, compliance, and security tool integration while ensuring best practices are followed across our cloud and on-prem environments.
About the Team
Our Cybersecurity team is spread across the world, with members in North America, Europe, and Asia. The Cybersecurity Analyst role will be part of the Security Engineering & Operations pillar, which focuses on security monitoring, incident response, and risk mitigation strategies.
This position will report to the Cybersecurity Manager based in North America and will collaborate closely with other security teams, product teams, and internal stakeholders to support our security initiatives and maintain a strong security posture.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time permanent position (40 hours per week), working on a hybrid model (2-3 days per week onsite) from our Barcelona office.
