This position requires independent working at one of the sites, it will involve working by yourself in the DH most of the time. You’ll work with multiple teams to provide operational support for the entire organization. Roles involve various tasks for Data Center Services, Shipping and Receiving and also Corporate Security. Also involves doing an On-Call rota as part of the shift rotation.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work independently at the site supporting all services in the data hall that may be required. We carry out a range of various data centre tasks. From rack and stack, swapping hard drives/tapes, cabling, replace hardware etc.
• Handle tickets related using the defined tracking and trouble management system. Provides prompt response to trouble and change tickets using the defined tracking and ticket management system.
• Receive, asset tag, store and deploy equipment and tools for data center operations as necessary. Will be responsible to keeping on top of inventory and elevations at the site.
• Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

• Hardware: dealing with various computer hardware, servers, switches, storage devices, hard drives, ram etc.
• Cable Management: being able to run different types of cabling whether it’s coppers, fibres, special storage, ability to terminate copper cable and understanding how to run it in so it is neat/safe.
• Mobility: Job requires you to be physical, some items can be heavy and at other times you are on your feet most of the day bringing in deliveries, showing visitors around etc.
• Communication is key. The ability to consistently and accurately update tickets, emails, notes, spreadsheets, team members and others with important information.
• The ability to work on-call.

Education

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience and A+ Certification or CDCP
