POSITION SUMMARY

KKR is building out an enterprise Data Operations group to collect, manage, and harness the power of data across our diverse business activities. The Data Operations Center of Excellence (CoE) is a cross functional team dedicated to formulating & driving KKR’s enterprise data management strategy while also providing the operating leverage required to bring these strategies/ frameworks to life. The Data Ops CoE will consists of 2 focus areas (pillars); Data Management and Data Delivery.

We are hiring the Data Management lead to provide strategic oversight of our data management function which includes the enterprise data governance and data quality team as well as a centralized team of data analysts responsible for data product management.  This individual will be responsible for development of firm wide data management framework as well as partnering broadly across the firm to operationalize the framework.  They will also work closely with technology and other functions to develop the necessary platforms and capabilities.

Hands on expertise with Data Management/ Data Governance is critical for this role. The ideal candidate will be someone who has a deep practical/ functional understanding of data management best practices and has led such functions at similar organizations. The role requires unique combination of hands on data savvy, understanding of the space, and the ability to work across Domains in understanding data/ curating content.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the strategic implementation, configuration and maintenance of the KKR’s Data Governance platform (Collibra) based on the firm’s data management/ data governance requirements & framework
  • Design capabilities to bring Data Governance framework to life; driving automation & integrations to accelerate processes/ workflows and working closely with Engineering to bring this to life
  • Design and manage strategic firm wide data products and partnering with data owners and technology to bring them to life
  • Enable use and adoption of the platform, partnering with teams across Operations and Technology to deliver required use-cases, while driving standardization & scalability where possible
  • Help curate, upload and maintain key Data Governance content/ artefacts (Data Glossary, Data Quality Rules, Lineage, etc.) in the platform and provide quality assurance of the meta-data’s integrity to ensure it can be leveraged downstream
  • Support Data Quality Management end to end; from DQ rule development to reporting/ analytics on data-set health to be published downstream for transparency
  • Develop and own Metrics/ KPI reporting on Data Management maturity; regularly reporting on the scope/ state of Data within the KKR platform
  • Manage and lead a team of data professionals, providing appropriate feedback, motivation, and strategic oversight to a 6-10 person team

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6-10 years or equivalent working in the financial services industry with a focus on data management, data governance, or data quality
  • Experience supporting IT/ digital transformation, with a proven ability to deliver data projects in an agile environment
  • Deep expertise on Data Governance platforms, with specific experience implementing the Collibra solution at an enterprise level
  • Expert understanding of data management frameworks and experience implementing them in a financial services institution
  • Expert understanding of data management technology landscape; knowledge of leading vendors, latest industry trends, and proven methodologies to develop bespoke ‘fit for purpose’ capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to clearly document (and maintain this documentation) all key artefacts
  • Strong cultural fit – Teamwork, proactive/self-starter, results oriented and high-integrity
  • Ability to work under pressure; willingness to work extended periods during critical times (e. quarter end, key project milestones)
  • Ability to manage projects and multiple workstreams simultaneously

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Buy-side exposure – experience in asset/ investment management
  • Experience with Data Quality solutions and the implementation thereof
  • Expert in Meta-Data Management
  • Familiarity with market & alternative data vendors

This is the expected annual base salary range for this New York-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.Base Salary Range$135,000—$175,000 USD
