Global Retail Finance sits in the heart of the Global Retail organization. It is a partner to the Retail organization and leads in improving transparency into metrics and supports in data-based decision making.

The Global Retail Finance team consists of 16 Finance professionals, all with their own expertise and generally with 5+ years of experience at various levels of the organization. The team is a horizontal and flexible organization in order to adapt to the changing environment and priorities. Given the stakeholders of the department, values such as taking ownership of responsibilities and quality control are clearly embedded within the culture of the department.

Role characteristics:

• Analysis: You will be responsible for setting up and improving the insights into the financial performance and planning of Retail Banking, building up a good relationship with the respective countries and key central stakeholders, maintaining a fluent communication line and being available for any question or request they may have. You will ensure quality of relevant business insights are incorporated into key central reports and assist in raising the standard to meet best in class.
• Advice: You will create actionable management information, for total Retail Bank in timely and high qualitive manner. You will advise on financial and business challenges, including full insight into the Retail Bank financials and initiatives.
• Stakeholder management: You will interact with many internal stakeholders (Finance departments in countries and business lines, Management Board, Retail MT, Risk, Capital Management, Group Treasury, Corporate Strategy, COO, Group Finance, COORF and Investor Relations).
• Focus on strict Cost & FTE Management: (cost efficiency programs) both from RB head-office perspective as well as country and functional views, including set-up of new efficiency tracking metrics and clean-up of data quality issues between locations (preparing decision slides for senior management).
• Retail HO & Cost Management: Cost & FTE control/ analysing/ reporting for Retail Banking head office teams; Managing investment envelope allocation; Further standardise the cost & FTE functional matrix (drivers / functional / business line views) to enable more automation.

Key responsibilities

You support relationship management with the Domestic Bank countries, Group Finance, Investor Relations and Communication. Strengthening relationships with local Finance teams and Head Office departments, to ensure flow of relevant information, while maintaining independent, objective finance view. Good collaboration in an effective way with our stakeholders, gathering and addressing the feedback of the of stakeholders on the content and approach.

You support senior management with ad hoc requests, financial analyses and projects and provide solutions/ insights to complex issues. Helps in providing a helicopter view and determines priorities for Retail Banking. Taking responsibility of the progress, quality and timely delivery of all the regular activities and projects. Setting clear expectations about the tasks and expected results. Updating the team about progress and openly address setbacks.

Forecast Process business alignment & challenge:

• Country-specific actions plans on income / costs initiatives
• Pre-alignment of RFC submissions
• Post-submission checks of completeness and correctness of RFC
• Accuracy of RFC vs Actuals
• Continuous improvement on quality of insights (incl. ad-hoc deep-dives on relevant matters

How to succeed

Furthermore, you have:

• Current residency in the Netherlands
• Master in Finance (e.g. Economics or Business Administration)
• Relevant recent experience in preparing and delivering management reporting with full P&L and BS scope
• You are a proven business partner, you develop networks, building long-term relationships and strong customer focus. Addresses potential customer requirements
• Strong quantitative background and excellent computer skills (Excel, MASS, PowerPoint)
• Initiative: creates opportunities and openings, the use of scenario analysis, predictive analytics and deep dives to get an idea of the future context
