This is a hybrid role meaning there is the opportunity to combine working in the office and from home. The team is based at Woodhatch Place, Reigate and you will be expected to be in the office at least two days per week, with the possibility of working at one of our other offices if needed.Rewards and Benefits

About the RoleThis position will work across both revenue and capital within the Corporate Finance team and is a great opportunity to be at the heart of the finance function during a particularly interesting and challenging time for Surrey and local government more widely. This is a role that will give the post holder an opportunity to learn and develop in areas that require specialist technical knowledge and as such training and support will be provided to the successful candidate.Key tasks performed by the role include:
- Revenue and capital budget monitoring
- Maintaining the grants register
- Preparing monthly HMRC returns
- Preparing quarterly and annual government returns
- Performing the monthly settlement activities of capital expenditure
- Contribute to the capital budget setting process
Shortlisting CriteriaTo be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:
- CCAB qualified / part qualified or equivalent level of experience
- Knowledge and experience of Unit4 or other computerised financial systems
- Knowledge and understanding of public sector accounting best practice
- Experience of working in a busy environment
