Job Summary

Simon Friend Entertainment are looking to recruit a Head of Sound for an immediate start on Ghost Stories, touring the UK until August 2025 and in London until November 2025. Experience in relevant roles on a similar scale production necessary and further information available on request.

Production: Ghost Stories

Location: UK tour/London

Salary: £850 p/w, touring allowance and travel paid as per UK Theatre/BECTU

Dates: UK Tour / ASAP – 2 August 2025, London / 22 September – 9 November 2025

Person Specification:

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with excellent attention to detail;

A proactive and flexible attitude;

Previous experience of UK Touring;

Previous experience of leading a team;

Extensive operational Sound experience and excellent technical skills, with particular focus on live mixing skills with a proven track record of dealing with complex radio mic shows;

The ability to work well with actors and creative team;

The ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise;

Awareness of current health & safety legislation;

Strong working knowledge of UK Theatre & SOLT Equity and BECTU agreements

Job Requirements

To assist the Production Manager and Production Sound Engineer to co-ordinate the hire and preparation of equipment and venue supplies, in tech and throughout the tour;

To take over from the Production Sound Engineer after the fit-up and before the get-out, taking particular responsibility for dealing with the system maintenance;

To take part in the load in and out of each venue;

To programme and operate the production’s sound control system;

To mix the show on a nightly basis;

To lead on all Sound department system maintenance;

To uphold the high production standards set by the Sound Designer and maintain the artistic quality of the original design;

To ensure all sound equipment and areas are kept in a tidy and secure manner;
