HIRING AN OVERNIGHT MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST IN BROOKLYN, NY!We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Technologist to join our hospital medical laboratory team in Brooklyn, NY. The ideal candidate will have a New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or a valid permit issued by NYSDOE Clinical Laboratory Technology. While ASCP certification is preferred, it is not required as long as the candidate holds a full New York State MLT license. We are open to hiring newly minted NYS medical technologists.Responsibilities

• Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory for the assigned station.
• Understand the principles of tests performed and maintain working knowledge of the equipment used in the assigned station.
• Specialize in hematology, responsible for urinalysis, coagulation, and spinal counts.
• Ensure that all specimens are appropriately stored.
• Follow all quality control policies and procedures to ensure reliable patient results.
• Recognize critical or life-threatening results, verify them, and report to the appropriate clinician.
• Document all results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).

Essential Skills

• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or valid permit issued by NYSDOE Clinical Laboratory Technology.
• Experience in hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, and reading differentials.
• Strong understanding of laboratory principles and equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• ASCP certification (preferred but not required).
• Experience in medical technology and clinical laboratory settings.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a hospital medical laboratory in Brooklyn, NY, working in the general lab with departments including Microbiology, Blood Bank, General Lab, Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, and Urology. The role involves a night shift from 12am-8am with rotating weekends, and training will be provided on the day shift. The lab is managed by a supportive and strong management team, offering a great working environment, competitive pay, and opportunities for upward mobility and growth. The lab is in the process of being built up, providing a great opportunity to get into the general lab and receive training in chemistry. This position becomes part of the 1199 union once permanent, offering stability and a competitive benefits package.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.00 – $60.00Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
