Job Summary:

Performs patient food service activities from the point of receiving the patient diet order to the point of meal delivery to include tray line functions, diet office, and formula room tasks. Assists in quality monitoring to assure excellence in patient food service. Complies with AU Health Customer Service Standards with all customers and hospital staff. Utilizes the Meal Host Script when passing and retrieving patient trays.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Assists patients with food selections and communicating special needs to clinical nutrition staff in a timely and pleasant manner. Assists with tray line preparation tasks. Accurately checks patient trays to ensure that all patients receive meals based on current diet order while maintaining excellent tray appearance and accuracy. Accurately prepares patient snacks and express meals. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Possess and utilizes advanced knowledge of therapeutic diets in the performance of their job. Has a working knowledge of all HACCP standards. Follows established guidelines for delivering patient meals and retrieving patient trays. Demonstrates above average competence and excellent customer relations in all aspects of job functions. Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to administrative, hospital, and departmental house rules, policies, procedures, and objectives. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma General or GED General

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Minimum 1 year experience in customer service or food and nutrition services Required and
