Actalent’s client in Surrey is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join their team. The Human Resources Specialist will assist HR leadership in driving messaging and corporate vision throughout the organization, supoprt employee related matters such as grievances, org change, absence, and health, and other duties detailed below.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist an existing HR team in conveying corporate messaging and corporate vision throughout
the organization.
• Provide a dedicated support service to employees that covers employee related matters
including grievances, organizational change, absence and health.
• Pro-actively work closely with all leaders within the organization to identify and resolve conflict
within teams.
• Drive employee engagement and retention efforts through effective communication, recognition
programs, and employee development initiatives.
• Assist in the cultivation of our uniquely diverse and inclusive culture.
• Keep all company policies and procedures current.
• Organize and maintain personnel records in the internal databases.
• Other related duties as needed to support the HR team
MUST HAVE
-
7-10 years experience within HR, must be from EPCs (non negotiable)
-
Experience coaching internal stakeholders (1:1 coaching with individuals on interviewing skills, people mgmt, etc.)
-
Experience with conflict mgmt, sensitive conversations and documentation (ie. Disciplinary/termination)
-
Experience working with Sr level leadership (Director to C-Suite)
-
Knowledge of BC Labour laws

Software: MS Office, ADP (or equivalent)

Open to rotation travel to other offices (Calgary – 1-2 day trip).

Ability to muti-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Strong time management and task prioritization skills
NICE TO HAVE

Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation

WORK ENVIRONMENT
On site in Surrey Office.
Hours/Shift: M-F, 7:30am-5pm
Hybrid: Fridays – HOME. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – OFFICE
Note: Half day every Friday, 11am finish
Note: MUST have own personal device for Friday WFH days – log into VPN portal. Else, can work from Surrey office on Fridays.
Culture: Business Casual (closer to casual). Have sports teams (cricket, soccer, ping pong, etc. corporate events throughout the year, culture electives as well. External training programs where we give training budgets to department heads, cover P.Eng renewals, mentorship programs. Internal mentorship and company-wide mentorship. Starting with a buddy as well. Mentor is your lead, buddy is someone you can ask questions to and get support when you need it.
Team Size: Small HR team, great opp for growth. HR Manager with one HR Specialist + successful candidate for this role.

The pay range for this position is $32.69 – $44.23/hr.
