THE UNIVERSITY OF LETHBRIDGE invites applications for one full time continuing instructor position at the Instructor III rank in the Accounting area of the Dhillon School of Business on our Lethbridge Campus beginning on July 1, 2025. Other start dates may be considered if candidates cannot begin the position on this date.

Preference will be given to those individuals with experience teaching or significant work experience in taxation, managerial accounting, accounting information systems, or financial accounting. Work experience with or experience incorporating accounting technology in the classroom is desirable.

Instructor responsibilities include, but are not limited to: instruction and assessment; course content updating to ensure alignment with emerging practice and professional competency requirements; ongoing pedagogical and assessment improvements; course and curriculum development; active involvement in School and Accounting Area governance; and other service activities such as case competition coaching, participation in student related functions, and participation in CPA events and CPA liaison and reporting initiatives.

Courses on the Lethbridge campus are typically taught in-person during the day, though some evening teaching may be needed. Online or hybrid teaching (with some students in-person while other students attend class concurrently online) may also be required.

Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree in accounting, and a Canadian CPA designation. A graduate degree in business is desirable. The applicant should have accounting work experience, and be willing and able to continue with limited ongoing accounting activities in a work or volunteer context to maintain their professional competence, as well as professional development activities to maintain their Canadian CPA designation. Teaching experience at the university level is desirable, as well as experience teaching in accounting professional programs.
