Job Mission

As a Data Scientist Intern, you will design, develop machine learning models and computer vision models to enable field service engineers to be successful in supporting our customers.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop predictive models for local CS sites for diagnostics needs

  • Develop a data pipeline for data monitoring analysis

  • Create a data automation system for tracking routine reporting needs

  • Data mining, locating correlation studies across signals

  • Develop solutions for real-time data streaming needs

  • Analyze data and report findings

Education and Experience

  • Must be pursuing a Master’s degree or a PhD degree in Mathematics/Data Science/Artificial Intelligence/Statistics/ Physics/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

  • Experience in software development, strong coding skills (i.e. Tensorflow, PyTorch)

  • Ability to communicate complex mathematical concepts in a clear and precise manner

  • Experience in Big Data analytics, and machine learning on structured and unstructured data

  • Advanced skills and knowledge in Statistics, Business Intelligence and Scripting (e.g. Python/R)

  • Hands-on skills in large-scale computing

  • Extensive knowledge in finding causation in signals , developing predictive models and their implementation in production

  • Excellent communicator, who can convince across disciplines and management layers

  • Practical approach, being able to work in a high demanding, result driven environment

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

  • This position is located on-site in San Diego, CA.  It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.

  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
