Job description

ROLE

• Direct and supervise departmental functions, implementing policies to meet corporate and departmental goals
• Coordinate staff efforts and administrative activities for efficient operations while maintaining a safe working environment.
• Prepare and monitor departmental budgets, analyze financial indicators, and submit variance reports.
• Oversee inventory control and facilitate the evaluation of products and equipment.
• Foster a motivating work environment, support staff development, and manage scheduling in compliance with union contracts.
• Supervise, interview, and evaluate staff performance while providing coaching and guidance.
• Maintain statistical data on departmental efficiency and patient satisfaction, ensuring continuous quality improvement.
• Collaborate on accreditation efforts and patient safety initiatives, developing educational tools and training for staff.
• Assist in planning patient care program expansions, participate in leadership meetings, and maintain professional development.
• Prepare reports for regulatory bodies and perform additional duties as needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS

• Post-secondary education in Nursing required
• Minimum of 5 years of current progressive professional experience with a focus in intensive care
• Minimum of 3 years of current progressive leadership experience in a unionized
• Current Regulated Health Care Provider in good standing with their governing body
• Recognized credentials in medical/surgical nursing, and critical care nursing an asset

ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONLocation: Multi-Site, working in person at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville.Hours of Work: Shifts will be Monday to Friday 8 am – 4 pm, however shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements.
