If so, this is the job for you!!Perinatal Health Partnership ProgramBilingual Medical Assistant, 1, 2, or 3 Part-Time (29 hours per week)Posted Date: August 29, 2024 Closing Date: September 8, 2024Position Type: Part-Time PositionLocation: Southwest Public Health District-Albany/Home base could depend on county of residencePaygrade/Salary: E-$22,212.55, F-$24,070.73, or G-$26,115.95 (Based on qualifications/experience)General Nature of Work· Under the supervision of a nurse, provides home visiting services to eligible pregnant and postpartum women and their babies in the counties of Dougherty, Terrell, Worth, Mitchell, Colquitt Thomas, and Grady.· Performs appropriate clinical duties for the enrolled patients, such as obtaining health histories, vital signs, weights, and heights. Performs venipunctures and collection of other lab specimens as ordered by providers (i.e., urinalysis, pregnancy test, glucose hemoglobin.) Makes assessments to determine needs and makes medical and other resource referrals as indicated. Assists in preparing patients for examination, and drawing blood, etc.· Provides patient education based on programmatic guidelines. May handle some administrative duties, which include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, documenting electronic medical records, etc.· May participate in health fairs, community events, and respond to disasters.· Provides outstanding customer service and maintains HIPAA standards related to Privacy and Security· Responds to Public Health EmergenciesMinimum QualificationsVocational/Technical degree in medical assisting from an accredited college OR High school diploma or GED AND One year of related experience. Bilingual (Fluent in Spanish and English). (Please mail or bring a copy of College Transcript or Diploma to Interview—must have official transcript prior to start date). Physical Requirements include occasional lifting of up to 45 lbs.Preferred Qualifications· Previous employment with any state’s Department of Public Health or a County Board of Health· Two years of experience in a paramedical capacity· Experience working with pregnant women and with infantsA State Merit Application for Employment must be received by this office no later than the deadline. Highlight any experience related to the Preferred Qualifications. This position may require driving company vehicles (Valid driver’s license required) and working some evenings and weekends during special events such as health fairs and responding to disasters. Selected applicant must consent to a motor vehicle record assessment. Points should be less than 10 and/or not negatively impact insurance rates for the agency. Drug screen, criminal background check and immunization records may be required. If selected, male applicants between 18 and 26 years of age must present proof of Selective Service Registration.
