We attract and retain premier medical professionals with competitive compensation, benefits, and a nurturing work atmosphere that unites passion and purpose.Learn more about us:$7,500 Commitment Bonus | Paid out in 2 equal installments over 12 months in 6-month increments (received at 6 months and 12 months). ​**Only new hires who have not worked for Duke University Health System in the past 12 months (at the time of offer) are eligible to receive the commitment bonus.**JOB LOCATIONDuke Cardiology of Cary – 540 New Waverly Pl, Ste 101, Cary, NC 27518JOB SUMMARYWe are seeking a CMA for Duke Cardiology of Cary to perform routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a Health System medical practice to assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure office runs smoothly.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform patient intake including: obtaining vital signs, administering survey tools, data collection, assisting patients with ambulation/toileting, reviewing patient medications
  • Completing procedural tasks including: administering vaccinations and medications according to protocols and provider orders, specimen collection and correct labeling, assisting with clinic-performed procedures (including EKGs, 6-minute walks, orthostatic blood pressures), reviewing pre-printed material with patient/family, bill for nursing procedures.
  • Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
  • High school or GED graduation required.
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
  • BLS required
