Background:
The Norwegian Refugee Council has hosted the Jordan INGO Forum (JIF) since its establishment in 2012. The JIF is a network of 60+ international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) implementing development and humanitarian programs to respond to the needs of vulnerable Jordanians and refugees in Jordan. The JIF is mandated to support its members by providing services along four key pillars: information exchange, coordination, advocacy, and representation. To be effective the Forum must maintain strong working relationships with key government and national stakeholders, including national NGOs. These interfaces determine the JIF Secretariat’s ability to influence policy, advance member concerns and work with national stakeholders to achieve common goals. This position will also play a critical role in supporting the coordination of government engagement and liaison efforts among JIF members to develop best practices/lessons learned and relevant guidance for senior leadership.
