Full time Utility – this is an entry level position in a large flour milling plant in Port Colborne, Ontario. In order to meet the requirements of this job posting, the applicant will be cross-trained in operational positions to facilitate operational needs.Duties and Responsibilities
- Training will be provided, and the successful candidate will be able to meet expectations within a reasonable period of time
- Keeping safety a top priority in everything you do
- Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format and completed with all required information
- Monitor, operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot equipment
- Duties include but are not limited to, material handling and light maintenance
- Adhering to Safety Rules, GMP, HACCP, and Food Safety protocols is crucial
- This position also includes general sanitation duties following established GMP’s for our food safety programs
- Attend and practice all required health & safety and quality & food safety training
- All other duties required
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Must be able to work from heights, stand, sit, kneel, crawl, and bend
- May be required to lift 55 lbs. / 22 kg
- Must be able to work in a variety of hot, cold, or wet conditions
- Shift work, overtime, and weekends will be required
- The successful candidate must possess good communication skills, the ability to follow directions, and most importantly perform various tasks safely and independently in a production environment.
- The successful applicant will be competent when working with machinery, including the ability to safely troubleshoot operational issues
- Basic computer skills, numeracy and record accuracy are also necessary to succeed at this role.
Education or Work Experience
- High school education or equivalent is preferred.
- Experienced in working in a Plant setting.

- Work in accordance with local/provincial legislation
- Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements
- There is room for further advancement in this role
- All candidates must have authorization and the ability to maintain authorization to legally work in Canada.
- Relocation support is not available for this position.
