The role:

The Product Owner is responsible for managing, building and delivering the Paratira SaaS product vision by translating the CEO and COO strategy into actionable tasks for the development team to execute these requirements in the shortest possible time to market.

The key to the success in this role is to be unrelenting in driving our development team to deliver product capabilities in the smallest consumable feature releases. The Product owner will facilitate communications between key stakeholders and ensure roadblocks are swiftly removed and our stakeholders are continually seeing value from our product.

The role interacts with stakeholders across multiple time zones including Americas, APAC and EMEA.

Accountabilities:

Product vision

• Contributes to the thinking of the CEO and COO as they define a product differentiation strategy.

• Develops personas either alone or in conjunction with a team including user experience experts.

• Advocates on behalf of the customer for the development team.

Problem statements and scenarios

• Define customer needs and the associated product features to meet those needs.

• Works closely with engineering and quality assurance to ensure the right customer problem is solved. This can involve sharing market research and competitive analysis with the team to best focus their efforts.

Product roadmaps

• Develops and maintains the product roadmap to communicate the progress of the vision

• Tracks progress towards the release of a product and maintains timely execution against plan

• Clearly express the product backlog items

• Order the backlog items to best achieve goals

• Optimise the value of the development team’s work

• Ensure the backlog is visible and clear

Epics and User Stories

• Ensures user stories are “ready” for development to start work, by working with user experience experts to validate wireframes (Figma etc) are at a sufficient level of detail to begin development.

• Ensures each story has the correct acceptance criteria

• Prioritizes defect or bug resolution

• Show the development team what to work on next.

• Provide supporting documents, images, and possibly rough wireframes for user stories

Product Delivery

• Oversee sprints to deliver prioritized backlog items

• Clear obstacles that hinder progress, and escalate critical issues when needed

• Communicate delivery timelines effectively

• Coordinate testing activities

• Ensure vendor deliveries are on schedule

• Stay within budget constraints

• Facilitate the generation of customer validated comprehensive case studies showcasing product success.

Team Management

• Supervise and manage team members ensuring each team member is delivering to their KPIs.

Reporting

• Provide comprehensive status reports on feature delivery

• Manage internal and external communications.

Requirements

The person:

• Self-starter who enjoys working independently

• Comfortable working in an agile startup environment and playing a key role in driving rapid development

• Constructively challenges the status quo, offering alternate solutions and passionately advocating for the customer

• Demonstrates a strong sense of personal responsibility, exceeding expectations on deliverables and driving them to completion

• Demonstrated success in releasing products that meet and exceed business objectives

• Excellent detailed written and verbal communication skills, possibly including some user interface documentation skills.

• Subject matter expertise in deploying SaaS cloud-based solutions and scaling to market.

• Excellent teamwork skills especially with people less skilled in communication.

• Ability to build relationships across stakeholders in multiple global organisations.

Required experience:

• 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3 years in a SaaS development role.

• Have experience with managed services environments, including experience with core MSP tools such as:

o ServiceNow (or equivalent ITSM)

o Logic Monitor (or equivalent monitoring systems)

o Cloud based management platforms (for networking, cloud infrastructure, collaboration and security)

• Hands-on experience with cybersecurity, data privacy regulations, and global compliance.

• Proven success in driving software development and a demonstrated track record of releasing regular updates on schedule.

Education and Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

• ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or relevant IT certifications preferred.
