Here’s the scoop – Summary

We are hiring a Production Manager to lead the day-to-day operations at our state-of-the-art facility in Acheson, AB. This critical leadership role, together with the Director of Operations, is responsible full production and warehouse operations. You seek to continuously improve cost, quality and service of the products produced through the development of high-performance teams and collaboration cross functionally with Quality Assurance, Supply Chain and Maintenance, Warehouse and Engineering. You lead by example and inspire your team to deliver top results. You are passionate about safety and promote a culture where safety comes first.   • Set clear vision for the team, define success, and provide clear prioritization.

  • Drive winning results by allocating time and resources on the most important things, making fast data driven decisions, and taking extreme ownership for outcomes.

  • Lead the team to deliver against the hiring plan by enabling scalable best practices and operational systems.

  • Through principles-based decision criteria to drive ruthless prioritization on investment decisions to drive enhancements to the customer experience and efficiencies through culture of continuous improvement

  • Oversee supervisors across multiple shifts with responsibility for hourly Associates

  • Drive strategy execution to operationalize concepts into realistic plans, Strong change management mindset with corresponding results

  • Demonstrate a leadership style that is collaborative, performance drive and motivational to drive toward facility goals

  • Ensure team compliance with all people and food safety policies and procedures

  • Maintain product quality and sanitation standards

  • Optimize operational efficiencies to support the production, warehouse, and shipping of products globally

  • Identify and oversee operational improvements necessary to deliver the site annual operating plan.

  • Ensure cost performance gaps are identified, action plans are developed, and resources are properly allocated

  • Track operational output measures (i.e. efficiency, yield loss, product quality, inventory accuracy, transactional accuracy), anticipating and correcting trends which would compromise the achievement of financial targets

  • Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals

  • Deliver effective change leadership to drive business changes while minimizing people impact

  • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to assist the team to solve operational issues

  • Motivate team members to achieve plan goals

  • Builds people capability through effective performance management, hiring, training, and communication for front-line hourly and salaried employees

  • Flex production plans on a shift-by-shift basis to prevent issues and operational inefficiencies

  • Optimize ingredient and packaging material used to minimize scrap loss

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts and procedures

  • Lead and motivate the operations team in a manner consistent with the Five Principles

  • Coach supervisors and managers to achieve performance standards with regards to safety, line utilization and quality.

What you’ll bring

  • 8+ years of leadership experience in non-union manufacturing environment.

  • Ideal candidate will have relevant post-secondary education (engineering, business, operations management or similar).

  • Prior food processing experience is strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence operating teams in a high-performance, fast paced manufacturing environment

  • Track operational output measures (i.e. efficiency, yield loss, product quality, inventory accuracy, transactional accuracy), anticipating and correcting trends which would compromise the achievement targets

  • Experience working in an environment that values peer-to-peer collaboration and managing upward through the organization

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across organization boundaries and with diverse teams

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule across shifts as needed to most effectively support the organization; willing to report to work to address key and/or critical issues whenever necessary

  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.

  • Results oriented with ability to multi-task in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment

  • Well-developed written and communication skills, and ability to exercise timely and good judgment in day-to-day business decisions.
