Riding Lights Theatre Company is looking for a Production & Stage Manager to lead on all production activity across Riding Lights and Friargate Theatre in York. You’ll play a central role in bringing our work to life, bringing productions together from the ground up.

Are you an experienced production or stage manager ready to lead from the front?

Riding Lights Theatre Company is looking for a Production & Stage Manager to lead on all production activity across Riding Lights and Friargate Theatre in York. You’ll play a central role in bringing our work to life, bringing productions together from the ground up. Managing and scheduling technical staff and freelancers, and keeping risk assessments and production documentation on track. You’ll be the key point of contact for in-house productions, visiting companies, and venue hires.

Whether you’re touring with a Riding Lights production or leading the technical provision at Friargate Theatre, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where no two days are the same.

If you have experience in a producing theatre environment, good knowledge of Health & Safety practice, and the ability to juggle multiple projects under pressure, we’d love to hear from you.

Salary – £30,000 PA
35 Hours per week, 30 days annual leave plus public holidays.

Job Requirements

Essential
Experience in technical or production roles within a producing theatre environment.
Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments, and compliance requirements for theatre/venue management.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and work under pressure to deadlines.
Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise confidently with colleagues, contractors, hirers, and external stakeholders.
Full Driving License
Desirable
Experience working in touring productions.
Formal health and safety qualification.
First Aid certificate.
