Requirements
Georgetown Law’s Institute for Technology Law & Policy is dedicated to training the next generation of lawyers and lawmakers and to advancing justice and accountability at the intersection of technology and law. It coordinates the leading academic program in the country for technology law and policy, with three degree programs, more than 80 courses, and 19 full-time faculty. The Institute provides a central hub for policymakers, academics, advocates, and technologists to study and discuss the most pressing issues in technology law and policy today. Among other programming, it hosts public convenings and workshops, trains government staff on key tech policy issues, and supports original research on topics including AI governance, internet platform regulation, the uses of technological tools to promote access to civil justice, patents and public health, and intellectual property.
The Program Coordinator will support the Executive Director, Academic Program Director, and other Institute staff in the coordination and implementation of the Institute’s programs, courses, and events. The duties are mainly administrative, but the role provides substantial exposure to the substantive work and professional network of a growing technology institute at one of the nation’s leading law schools, and opportunities will increase with experience. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Serve as an important point of contact for students, prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni, vendors, and external partners.
- Manage the office, including maintaining Institute email, calendar, facilities, supplies, and travel arrangements.
- Coordinate logistics of Institute programming and events.
- Track expenses and coordinate processing of reimbursements and invoices.
- Develop and manage communications (website, newsletter, social media).
- Provide administrative assistance for recruiting and career support for student programs.
- Maintain database of alumni, industry, government, civil society, and philanthropy contacts to support outreach and development initiatives.
Work Interactions
This position is a critical, frontline staff position for which a customer service mindset is key. The Program Coordinator serves as a first contact for many students, prospective students, employers, and alumni. The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director and supports the day-to-day work of the Institute, including recruiting and career support activities of the Academic Program Director. The position involves work with a variety of offices across the Law Center and the University in order to coordinate activities, including the Centers & Institutes Management Office, Communications Office, Events Office, Financial Affairs, other Law Center centers and institutes, and the Georgetown-wide Tech & Society Initiative.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Balance multiple priorities while paying attention to detail
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Experience with communications, social media, and website maintenance
- Comfortable interacting with internal colleagues and external constituents, donors, program participants, and VIPs
- Ability and flexibility to work occasional early mornings and evenings as needed to support events
- Interest in issues relating to technology law and/or policy advocacy
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic and/or work experience in technology law and policy
- Background in meeting and event planning
- Experience as executive assistant or similar support position
- Comfortable with budgeting and finances
- Knowledge of Canva or other graphic design platforms

The projected salary range for this position is $60,000.
Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$20.16 – $31.30
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
