The Opportunity:Company, Department: NS Power, Control Center OperationsLocation: Halifax, NSClosing Date: March 25, 2025We are currently looking for a permanent Project Manager (Interconnection) Engineer to join our Energy Control Centre’s team. Reporting to the Manager, Grid Operations and Security, you will lead the execution of Distribution Interconnections Projects from development to Construction and Commercial Operation. Key elements of this role include::
- Managing the entire project lifecycle, including project development (economic and business case justification and review of alternatives, as applicable), planning, engineering, procurement, scheduling, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
- All components of the project’s Regulatory Governance, including managing project scope and justification, financial performance, cost controls, and Interconnection requirements, as applicable.
Manage generator interconnection projects including initiation, planning, scheduling, procurement, and implementation.Working closely with generator-interconnection customers to ensure that agreed-to milestone dates are met.Provide Engineering support for the System Operators during day-to-day operations as well as for Storm support.You will be responsible for personal safety, that of co-workers, and those under your direction, including contractors, by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. - Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Registered member of, or eligible for membership in, Engineers Nova Scotia.
- You possess strong oral and written communication skills, a strong customer service ethic, good interpersonal skills, and can function effectively in a team environment.
- Self-starter with proven organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
- PMP certification is considered an asset.
