We are currently hiring a forward-thinking and results-oriented Quantitative Software Developer (f/m/d) for our Analytics and Digital Platform team. Risklab is the expert for investment and risk solutions within Allianz Global Investors. Over 60 investment professionals worldwide develop advisory services and solutions that are tailored to individual investment goals of our clients.

Within this exciting role, you will be working with a team of experts to implement digital building blocks for delivering our investment advisory and solution capabilities to internal and external partners.

Additionally, the position offers not only the chance to improve your development skills, but allows you to tap into cloud native application development using state-of-the-art technologies.

This position is based in our Munich office.

What you will do

• Design, build, document and maintain core application components and top-notch APIs for portfolio simulation, allocation and analytics based on economic scenario generators
• Work collaboratively with investment advisory, investment solutions and digital business teams to gain a deep and clear understanding of their requirements
• Support the applications in a productive environment to deliver excellent user experience and meet business requirements in a timely manner

What you bring

Required

• Degree in Computer Science, Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a directly related field with mathematical acumen
• Solid background both in technology and quantitative finance
• Previous experience in application development ideally with at least one high level language with Python and C#
• Familiarity with cloud native applications and technologies
• Good understanding of microservices and distributed systems
• Good understanding of the processes behind API life cycle management, web APIs
• Good knowledge of database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL databases, cloud storage solutions
• Professional approach to agile software development in a regulated environment with modern SDLC tools such as GitHub and JIRA
• Working knowledge in the fields of
  • Statistics / Econometrics (Linear algebra, Regression, hypothesis testing, etc.)
  • Financial mathematics (Portfolio theory, mean variance optimization, risk modeling)
• Ambitious demeanour and passion for advancing new topics independently and taking responsibility for their implementation and success
• Empathetic teammate, flexible, pro-active, self-reliant, and forward thinking
• Willingness and ability to work both independently and as part of a team, in an upbeat, fast-paced, business-critical environment
• Proficiency in English both spoken and written

Preferred

• Experience in implementing platforms for investment and risk strategies or equivalent experience
• Experience in building data pipelines and data-driven applications
• German language skills, verbal and written
