The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Nanyang Technological University is a leading school for Sustainable Built Environment. It has over 60 faculty members and more than 1,500 students and is rapidly expanding its range of education and research activities. The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) aims at exploring and utilizing the underground space in a sustainable manner. 

Our department is seeking to hire a high-calibre researcher to provide leadership and support for digital transformation of geotechnical industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms to fuse multi-source data for TBM tunneling risk assessment.

  • Apply emerging digitalized approaches to transform the current engineering practices.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in mechanical and civil engineering or related field

  • At least 2 years of relevant experiences in thermal engineer / technical hands-on experience in thermodynamic analysis

  • Good written and oral communication skills

  • Proficiency in programming, such as Python, MATLAB, or other competent languages

  • Competent in soft skills / general personality traits e.g. information visualization, interaction design

  • A good record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals or conferences
