Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Janitorial Lead to oversee and perform cleaning operations for a 5-star restaurant. The ideal candidate will have expertise in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency across all areas of the restaurant. This role requires hands-on experience with commercial kitchens, deep cleaning, and a solid understanding of restaurant operations and hygiene standards in fine dining restaurants. 

This position also involves training, supervising, and monitoring team members while managing and adjusting work schedules to ensure all tasks are completed to the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead janitorial operations to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment across the entire restaurant, including:
• Front of House: Dining areas, floors, walls, furniture, windows, and light fixtures.
• Back of House: Kitchens, food preparation areas, ice machines, refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas.
• Restrooms: Toilets, sinks, mirrors, fixtures, and replenishment of supplies.
• Outdoor Spaces: Patios, entryways, and external seating areas.
• Train, supervise, and monitor team members to ensure adherence to cleaning protocols and high-quality standards.
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment, including grills, fryers, ovens, exhaust hoods, dishwashing stations, and refrigeration units, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Perform and supervise specialized cleaning tasks, including stripping and waxing floors, deep cleaning carpets, power washing, and polishing stainless steel surfaces.
• Manage waste disposal processes, including sorting, recycling, and sanitizing garbage areas.
• Inspect and maintain all cleaning tools and equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
• Schedule and adjust work assignments to ensure timely and thorough completion of all tasks.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to restaurant and industry cleanliness standards.
• Monitor supply inventory, requisition materials, and maintain proper stock levels.
• Provide on-call support during emergencies and handle last-minute labor adjustments when needed.

Requirements

Requirements

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in janitorial roles within fine dining or restaurant settings.
• Familiarity with Florida sanitation and safety standards in food service environments.
• In-depth knowledge of cleaning and maintaining restaurant and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a team efficiently.
• Proficiency in using smartphones, tablets, or scheduling tools for task management.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to carry, lift, push, or pull thirty (30) pounds or more and stand for extended periods.
• Professional demeanor, flexibility, and a positive, can-do attitude.
