Newport News, Virginia
Riverside’s Nurse Aide Program is intended to transition new hires from Hospitality Assistants to fully licensed Certified Nurse Aides.
In this program, you will begin by working as a Hospitality Assistant in a labor pool (as needed) status until your scheduled course begins. The course is an accelerated 4-week program that will teach you the skills and knowledge needed to take and pass your CNA boards. Classes require full-time day shift hours (participants are paid for all course and clinical hours).
Following the completion of the program and passing the Virginia Board of Nursing – Nurse Aide exam, you will move into a full-time or part-time CNA position at the location in which you are hired. Full-time CNA positions require a 12-month work commitment and part-time requires an 18-month work commitment upon graduation. Status is determined by facility need.
The work commitment must be fulfilled in a Lifelong Health facility (skilled rehab, long term care, or assisted living). Positions in home health or acute care do not qualify for the Earn and Learn program.
Graduates are eligible for reimbursement for costs associated with registration for National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) exam, to achieve CNA designation
