Job Description:Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Reporting to the Digital Project Manager, the Senior Change Management Lead acts as a liaison between technical teams and Communications and Community Engagement staff and creates an understanding of business needs by working closely with project teams and overseeing their delivery and change activities through technical partners.This is a contract position up to 20 months.What will I be doing?

  • Develops and leads actionable and targeted change and project management plans which include communication plans, sponsor implementation roadmaps, coaching, and training plans to ensure projects deliver expected outcomes.
  • Applies a structured change management approach which involves assessing impacts to the business side of the program/project by assessing the adoption of change among all stakeholders impacted, defining business gaps between current to expected future state as a result of changes to business processes, technology, job roles and organizational structure
  • Establishes, manages, and directs resources to ensure the necessary level and capabilities are represented on a project team to ensure project success.
  • Develops, maintains and monitors cross-divisional readiness plans, project plans and schedules, in liaison with business leads and management to ensure operational readiness goals and objectives are achieved
  • Collaborates and consults with internal business partners to ensure operational readiness goals and objectives are met (development and implementation of new/revised processes, policies, products, product process tools and related training) as supported by the business
  • Provides advice, coaching and support to affected managers and leaders to promote broad and efficient adoption of change
  • Leads business participation in customer programs related projects and represents Digital Communications & Community Engagement in relevant corporate initiatives
  • Collaborates with project teams to integrate change management activities into overall project plans
  • Provides business stakeholders change expertise, coaching and guidance to influence and ensure proper change management practices are considered for all initiatives, projects and activities
  • Facilitates the adoption of new or improved cross-functional processes and procedures to realize cost efficiencies, improved customer service, streamline work methods and reduce error
  • Conducts assessment as required to determine the change impact and change readiness across impacted stakeholder groups, leadership support and readiness
  • Partners cross functionally and monitors work assignments to ensure adherence to project timelines
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and motivation to employees in their work processes and performance and ensures they are equipped with the necessary tools and information to enable their full engagement
  • Provides consultative expertise and coaching to project teams and acts as the lead on business change management components of change management initiatives to coach and facilitate the development of business change management plans, risk mitigation and performance metrics to measure change success.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

  • Completion of a degree in business administration, or a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in leading large-scale process, digital, technology projects, business process re-engineering, other organizational initiatives
  • Certifications or Designations: Change Management and Project Management certifications are considered an asset (e.g. ADKAR, Prosci, PMP, Scrum)
  • Knowledge of the theory, principles and practices of Change management processes and experience in business process re-design and project management methodology
  • Understanding or experience in the digital landscape (web, CRM, analytics etc.) is considered an asset
  • Developing and motivating professional staff to improve performance
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
  • Experience working on large scale business change management initiatives/projects
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation skills to develop and implement change management plans
