Job Description

We are looking for Senior Data Scientists (all genders) to join the Ad Tech domain of the Vendor Data tribe in our mission to deliver consistently amazing experiences.

You will work alongside other data professionals designing and deploying advanced models to solve complex problems, delivering revenue for Delivery Hero at the frontline of our growth & profitability journey. 

At Delivery Hero, we are exploring the potential of AdTech to introduce people to new food they love and to enable our partners to meet their future customers at the perfect moment. We have developed a range of products to offer advertising solutions for restaurants helping them to increase their visibility and reach, improve their order conversion, and eventually drive more sales by covering the entire marketing funnel. Operating across over 50 countries around the clock, our Ad Tech connects the ideal advertiser with the ideal customer millions of times every day. In 2024/25, Ad Tech is a fundamental area for us on our path to profitability and is predicted to generate more than 1 billion euros in revenue for Delivery Hero; our innovative tech and product offering is the backbone of that development.

The Vendor Data tribe’s mission is to drive innovation, insight-driven decision making and to solve business problems through a culture of excellence and openness. The tribe comprises teams of skilled analysts, engineers, and scientists working together to deliver data  solutions covering a host of business opportunities across all of Delivery Hero’s 70+ markets.

  • Drive the development and implementation of advanced machine learning models to optimise ad ranking, bidding strategies, and ad pacing mechanisms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of vendor advertising campaigns.

  • Analyse large-scale datasets to understand and identify opportunities deploying sophisticated statistical techniques to improve ad relevance, click-through rates, and conversion metrics.

  • Lead research initiatives to explore emerging trends and technologies in AdTech and machine learning, contributing to the advancement of Delivery Hero’s advertising products and algorithms. Stay informed about industry developments and incorporate new methodologies and best practices into our data science workflows.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in data science and machine learning, providing guidance and mentorship to other team members and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the data science team.

Qualifications

  • You excel at modelling business problems using machine learning techniques covering feature engineering, model selection and design as well as evaluation and optimisation to deliver huge value to the business. 

  • You enhance the performance of other team members through mentorship and constructive collaboration to benefit others from your deep understanding and experience of data science.

  • You have expertise in building and training complex ML models with strong knowledge of the Python data toolkit ideally centering around Pandas, CatBoost

  • Through the fluent use of SQL queries you are able to explore our data universe and gather data to support your analysis and the development of machine learning solutions.

  • You write clean, production-level code and effectively use software versioning, ideally Git.

  • You are familiar with deploying and developing in cloud systems, ideally GCP.

  • You love to learn, are a critical thinker and creative problem solver who strives for excellence.

  • You are a team player who loves to collaborate and work with stakeholders from different tech teams in a diverse environment.

Nice to have:

  • Expertise in deep learning, ideally with neural networks experience using Tensorflow & TFX.

  • Hands-on experience with neural networks solving Ad Tech challenges would be highly desirable. 

  • Experience deploying complex neural networks to serve live traffic and experience collaborating with ML engineers.
