Your role
The Senior Director, Revenue Optimization will lead establish, implement and direct revenue strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets along with the development of business plans to achieve targets. You will be responsible for pricing and inventory of all advertising sales products along with subsequent adjustments based on supply and demand.
You will champion and lead our monetization efforts by driving the evolution of audience-based selling. You are able to develop and maintain executive level relationships with key business partners and clients, while setting the strategic direction for the department. The Senior Director will work with stakeholders across CBC/Radio-Canada in order to ensure our offering not only performs, but has strong demand in the market.
Key tasks:

Establish and implement revenue strategies across all platforms and products, aligning actions with strategic plans.

Accountable for detailed revenue analysis by program/platform/offering that is instrumental in setting the annual revenue targets.

Senior authority for managing inventory through monitoring level of sales, adjusting inventory product types, creating pricing strategies and adjusting based on market demand.

As a Senior Director within the Media Solutions Department, identifies and recommends business opportunities, develops business plans that include revenue generating initiatives, and sets the strategic direction of the Revenue Optimization department, ensuring they complement the CBC/Radio-Canada brand positioning and overall Media Solutions and Corporate strategic initiatives.

Aligns actions with strategic goals. Plans and manages departmental budget and determines operating requirements to meet CBC/Radio-Canada Media Solutions initiatives.

Approve impression universe forecasts across all CBC/Radio-Canada offerings.

Works closely with Sales, Marketing and Media Creativity teams to develop inventory/pricing and guidelines for strategies for any/all sales initiatives, sponsorships, pricing and promotion.

Lead the development of revenue and inventory forecasts for all offerings across CBC/Radio-Canada digital platforms.

Works closely with Senior Director, National Sales (and other members of the Leadership team) to ensure proper implementation of the marketing and revenue strategies and initiatives to ensure sales targets are achieved.

Collaborate, negotiate, and coordinate strategic plans and activities with internal partners regarding promotions, events and advertising opportunities to enhance the value proposition for external partners.

Work closely with senior level stakeholders to ensure proper implementation of marketing and revenue strategies and initiatives to ensure sales targets are achieved.

Identify and recommend business opportunities, develop business plans including revenue generating initiatives, and set the strategic direction, ensuring they complement the CBC/Radio-Canada brand positioning and overall Media Solutions and Corporate strategic initiatives.

Accountable for detailed revenue analysis by product line that is instrumental in setting the annual revenue targets.

Responsible for contributing to the planning of current and future business strategies, initiatives and systems that operationalize and support revenue strategies (i.e digital proposal and contracting systems, Business Warehouses, CRM systems, etc.).
We are looking for a candidate with the following:

Post-secondary education with a minimum ten (10) years of related industry experience
-
Extensive knowledge of the advertising industry (and how it functions), digital and media trends, the competitive environment and consumer media habits, in the context of a multi-platform environment

Extensive knowledge of basic research data (i.e. Comscore, etc.) and qualitative research tools
-
Proven management skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and influence a team and create buy-in
-
Must possess a growth mindset. Willing to confront uncertainties, embrace challenges, give and receive feedback on a regular basis, and switch gears at a moments’ notice

Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
-
Ability to exercise independent judgment, initiative and effective problem solving

Excellent negotiation, relationship management and interpersonal skills
-
High level of expertise in decision making and project management

Extensive experience working with, negotiating and influencing senior level team members, with a demonstrated ability to display tact and diplomacy

Strong background in strategic and analytical thinking skills

Ability to handle multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines with ease

Superior knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office, and Google Suite

Bilingualism (English/French) is required
