DescriptionThis role has a starting salary of £45,680 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.We are excited to be hiring a new Senior Transport Planner to join our Transport Studies team. The team is based in Woking, in offices close to the railway station. We work flexibly, with 2 days in the office and other days either working at home or in alternative locations. Please note, the contractual location for this role is currently Quadrant Court, however it is our intention to move within the local area to Victoria Gate in Central Woking later this year.It is a fascinating and rewarding role within a professional sector that is much in the news. We combine the use of ‘big data’ with GIS and transport models to provide analysis and clear information. About the TeamThe Transport Studies team works with different teams within the organisation. Because of this, you will be using your knowledge when participating in projects involving other disciplines and have the opportunity to develop your experience of working with these professions ranging, from Transport Policy through to Design, Construction and Maintenance with many others in between. It is a fascinating role, where you will be able to contribute your own transport planning and modelling expertise.We are a collaborative team, where your ideas and input to discussions will be valued from the day you join. You can find out more about how we work by viewing our Team Charter.About the RoleYou will be working with the other Principal and Senior Transport Planners in the team, as well as having line management responsibilities. This will include helping to train our Professional Development Programme (PDP) Graduate Transport Planners and Modellers.Your work will include the analysis of issues, the development of options and the appraisal of possible solutions as part of preparing business cases. It will also include providing the necessary evidence to inform and support the strategic spatial strategies promoted by partner Local Planning Authorities, therefore, the use and presentation of data and associated analysis is vital to inform consultations, decision-making and funding bids. Consequently, we wish to make use of your skills to develop this key area.Day-to-day duties include:
