As a building society, we were born out of community and have always had a strong social purpose. This year we launched a new Social Impact strategy, Nationwide Fairer Futures that is shaped by our purpose – Banking – but fairer, more rewarding, and for the good of society. Nationwide Fairer Futures aims to tackle three of the biggest issues we see in society today – youth homelessness, families living in poverty and people living with dementia. Through partnering with three leading charities, Centrepoint, Action for Children and Dementia UK, we will make a difference to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. The partnerships are focussed on funding transformational programmes, headline support of key campaigns with wide ranging colleague and customer involvement.The new strategy will involve working with flagship charity partners to deliver activity and programmes to engage our colleagues, customers and communities and help transform thousands of lives.You’ll be supporting the Strategic Relationships & Strategy Manager to maintain the operational charity partnership relationships – helping to create an external reputation as ‘the’ organisation that charities want to be partnered with.You’ll also help to manage and support a network of motivated, informed, aligned, and adaptable champions that ensures Social Impact activity, and practises are embedded across the Society.You will be working closely with other areas/teams to source and interpret customer and societal insights and research to identify areas to evolve Nationwide Fairer Futures for future focus or short-term support.The team is also the front door for business-wide stakeholder engagement, providing support to the business to maximise Social Impact opportunities.You will be confident and capable to drive and facilitate engagement with the Social Impact narrative, programmes and partnerships.It’s an exciting time to be in Social Impact and we are looking for someone to join us who has the drive, ambition and passion to make the most meaningful impact on customers, communities, and society.This role is within the Customer Brand and Engagement Function, which is responsible for building and maintaining Nationwide’s brand and reputation both for customers and colleagues.The Social Impact team ensures that the 1% of pre-tax profits that Nationwide’s puts to good causes is spent in a responsible and impactful way that connects colleagues, customers and the wider community with our brand in positive and meaningful ways.At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. An ability to quickly build relationships with colleagues, third party suppliers and charities will help you to be critical. Thinking creatively but also with the ability to get stuck into the details to keep everything running smoothly will be important in this varied role.You’ll be a go to person for our charity partners and colleagues, building great relationships and fostering an environment of collaboration.You will support the Social Impact Ambassador network who are a critical audience to keep informed and engaged with each part of the Social Impact team.You’ll be working on campaigns and projects engage colleagues and customers with Fairer Futures. So that means you’ll be heavily involved in creating outstanding communications and collateral, and executing impactful, memorable moments for colleagues and customers.You will be adaptable to work on different projects with a constant focus on operating with best practice principles and supporting the team evolving and improve our processes and ways of working.You will be relentless in supporting and championing the Social Impact agenda.   • Able to prioritise and manage multiple, high-profile activities at the same time.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining project plans
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work to deadlines and under pressure with a calm and flexible attitude when things change or don’t go to plan
  • You’ll enjoy building relationships with a variety of teams within Nationwide and with our charity partners
  • Has good creative judgement, and is experienced in reviewing / developing new ideas
  • A good understanding and experience of running project budgets
  • Driven and proactive, able to work independently and as part of the team.
  • Passionate about making a difference to society and local communities.
