The opportunity
All summer student employment opportunities are contract positions, ranging from 6 – 16 weeks during the summer months (April to August 2025) and are contingent on funding approval from the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Social Service Worker will support with program administration through variety of projects within the Community Support Services business unit at March of Dimes Canada.
Responsibilities
Provide assistance with program administration and community relations
Support with Client relations
Shadowing case coordinating meetings
Support with reviewing files to identify a problem and seek input from a mentor to resolve
Contacting clients to review their needs and report any changes
Follows up or uses other methods to verify that the program goals are met
Collaborating with community partners to accomplish program goals
Support with administrative tasks including file work, computer/software usage, etc.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications and experience
Enrolled in or completion in post secondary education in a related field
Ability to work in a team and/or independently
Exceptional communications and written skills
Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
Excellent problem solving and risk management skills
Attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Salary: $20.00 per hour

This position is subject to the approval and funding of our application to the Canada Summer Job program.

be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
Note: International students are not eligible participants.
