DESCRIPTION

At Amazon, security is central to maintaining customer trust and delivering delightful customer experiences. Our organization is responsible for creating and maintaining a high bar for security across all of Amazon’s products and services. Amazon Security Platform Engineering provides the tools that allow Amazon to secure the cloud, our employees, and our customers.

Security is critical to Amazon’s customer trust. The Amazon Security Platform Engineering team develops and operates tools used by Amazon security professionals to protect Amazon data. We work across Amazon, including AWS, retail, and subsidiary business units. In support of our partners, you’ll have opportunities to learn about security response and detection while building and maintaining our team’s software.

Our team develops and operates a full stack of security software to protect Amazon from unwanted network connections and unwanted software. This work includes our own cross platform security client, the AWS cloud infrastructure to support distributing policy and gathering telemetry from clients, as well as an internal intelligence catalog service that gathers inputs from many sources that feed into the policy distributed to clients.

We utilize many different AWS services to build our APIs, UX, and infrastructure. We primarily use Python and Go languages for our infrastructure and we build our cross-platform security client using Go. We work with many internal partners to expand the functionality of the tools we offer to better protect Amazon data and systems.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain platform services using AWS and endpoint agents to build highly scalable solutions.
  • Automate deployments, upgrades and system changes to ensure continuous operations
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand their use cases and build solutions to meet their security needs.
  • Enable customers to automate security tasks and track success metrics using our tooling
  • Participate in on-call operations to ensure system reliability and continuity across the company
  • Identify opportunities to enhance skills in software development, cloud computing and security
